Peer Network Meetings
Would you like to be part of a youth peer network?
Peer networks are all about having fun, making friends and coming together to achieve a common goal.
Our peer network group is for young people living with disability aged 18 – 35. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in Unley, SA and are run by Peer Connectors who share lived experience of disability.
Each meeting is free and includes guest presenters who focus on different subjects and activities to ensure our young members feel connected, capable and confident! There is also free pizza and drinks to share with friends – bonus!
Participants are given the chance to grow new skills, get involved in their local community and gain a sense of belonging. In fact, many of the members remain good friends, even after they surpass the age limit and move on from the network!
Isabella, who first joined when she was 19 says, “I have grown more sure of myself since joining the group. When I went to my first peer support meeting I was a little bit anxious, but now I’m more confident and my chatting skills have really improved!”
