Peer Network Meetings

EYDN Peer Network Meetings are for young people with disability aged 18 – 30. Meetings are held each month in Unley, SA and The Barossa Valley, run by Peer Connectors who share lived experience of disability and JFA Purple Orange staff. Peer network meetings provide a safe space for young people with disability to increase social connections with peers, share knowledge, experiences and ideas about issues important to young people with disability. 

Participants are given the chance to grow new skills, get involved in their local community and gain a sense of belonging. In fact, many of the members remain good friends, even after they surpass the age limit and move on from the network.

Isabella, who first joined when she was 19 says, “I have grown more sure of myself since joining the group. When I went to my first peer support meeting I was a little bit anxious, but now I’m more confident and my chatting skills have really improved!”

You do not need to be on NDIS, you do not need a formal diagnosis to attend EYDN meetings or to become an EYDN member. You do not need a formal diagnosis.

EYDN peer network meetings are  free events. We provide light catering and hold peer network meetings in accesible spaces.
